Spartanburg Regional will host the Walk to Remember from 2 – 4 p.m. on Sunday, October 11 in recognition of National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month, which aims to increase the community’s understanding of the grief associated with the loss of an unborn or newborn child.
This annual memorial event, the only walk of its kind in Spartanburg, enables parents, relatives and friends who have lost a child due to pregnancy complications, stillbirth, early infant loss or fetal abnormalities to walk in remembrance of their loved one. In addition to the walk, the day includes an invocation, music and a balloon release.
Participants are asked to park in the Spartanburg Regional parking garage on East Wood Street and meet in the Cancer Survivors Garden next to the garage.
Walk to Remember is a free event, but participants should register by calling 560-6591 or 560-6864.
